The evening of December 1st brought the annual Holiday Concert and Art Show back to Crestwood. Music students from Grades 7 through 12, under the direction of Mr. Jeff Fong, demonstrated their musical skills and talent in a diverse concert which showcased their abilities on pieces ranging from Ode to Joy to the Magnificent Seven.
The Junior and Senior Jazz Bands entertained the audience with their interpretations of The Theme from ‘Peter Gunn’ and the Count Basie styled ‘Basically Basie’ and the Crestwood Voices Choir, under the direction of Mr. Chris Jull, sang beautiful renditions of Amazing Grace and Riversong. The choir was masterfully accompanied by Grade 8 student Vincent Li on piano.
The Art Department, under the direction of Ms. Mishka Sawka and Ms. Lisa Belanger put on a spectacular display of beautiful student art work in the school foyer.
Messrs. Tomas Johnstone, Adam Anklewicz and Ms. Cassandra Postma made the hallways and gymnasium sparkle with computer screen technology displaying works of student art.
Mr. Jason Hawkins from Social Studies unleashed his comedic writing talents to hone the script used by our M.C., Alexander McCleod.
It was a wonderful collaborative celebration of the Arts at Crestwood.
