The U14 Girls Volleyball team had 3 games this week!
On Monday, the girls traveled to Montcrest for their first game of the season. The first set started off with CPC in the lead with some ace serves from Kyra Grossman, Maddie Milberg, and Madison Horne. Unfortunately, Montcrest caught up at the end and took the set. The second set was lead by some excellent passing from Julia Fallows and Rachel Mintz, but again Montcrest snuck up from behind to take the set. The entire team showed great teamwork and had some excellent cheering throughout the game.
On Wednesday the girls had two home games. Crestwood began the afternoon facing off against Trinity College. After a slow start to the game, Crestwood fought back with some spectacular serves from Maddy Horne and Julia Fallows. With help from the fans, Crestwood overtook TCS to win the first set! In the second set, CPC was always one step ahead of its competition with some great plays from Kyra Grossman and Megan Pearlman. With a final score of 25 to 22 the lions took their first win of the season!
After some well deserved rest, the lions came back to the den to face off against Pickering College. The very strong serves from PC set CPC back in the first set but they did not give up! They pushed back just a moment too late leaving the score 25 to 21 for Pickering. The second set showed Julia Gutzin and Maddie Milberg making some great dives to save the ball, but we came up just short again with a score of 25 – 22 for PC.
