The Crestwood School Hockey Team began their season yesterday with a hard fought 6-1 loss to The Sterling Hall School Sharks. The Cougars started off slow but improved as the game progressed and we were able to create multiple scoring chances in every period. The hockey team was led by grade 6 player Cole Eichler who tirelessly dashed up and down the ice sheet to both create and deny opportunities at both ends. Notable forwards included our goal scorer Brad Parker and his winger Aidan Takes who worked well together to carry the play during their shifts. Our young defence core exhibited remarkable poise for what was for many their first game in a challenging league. And last but not least we must mention a stellar goaltending performance by 6B student Evan Senior. Senior was called upon the day before the game and made multiple saves in every period to keep the score respectable. The entire coaching staff appreciates the strong fight and positive attitude by our team throughout our opening contest. We will practice next Thursday before resuming play in the new year.
