The U12 hockey squad was topped by the Royal St. Georges College Knights on Tuesday by a score of 5-3, including an empty-netter. We started slowly and fell behind 2-0 in the first five minutes. A rising wrister by Ben Maharaj brought us to within one before first year forward Andy Huang tied it up with a slot snipe before the first intermission. The second period was back and forth with many chances for both teams. RSGC capitalized on two of their opportunities and held the lead heading into the final frame. Our young lads dominated the third period but were only able to squeeze one goal past the RSGC goaltender as Maharaj struck again. It was a great game with both teams displaying terrific teamwork, competitiveness and superb sportsmanship. Coaches and players were treated to an arena hotdog and a cold beverage at the end of the game. #hockeyhockeyhockey #crestwoodathletics
