The Crestwood Cougars Hockey Team got off to a slow start vs CDS yesterday at York Mills Arena and after 10 minutes of play found themselves trailing 3-0. The second period did not begin much better with CDS striking again to take a 4-goal advantage. Despite the lopsided score the boys and girls from Crestwood continued to battle and stay positive. After a faceoff win by Brad Parker in the offensive zone Cole Eichler ripped a shot just above the bar that bounced back over top the net lying in the crease. Sean Zelman pounced on the loose puck and popped it home for our first goal. The momentum quickly changed in our favour and we carried the play the rest of the game finally locking the score 5-5 with 3 minutes to play. A tough call against Eichler left us without our most consistent performer in the final minute and CDS was able to capitalize with the 6-5 winner. All coaches are proud of the consistent effort, team play and most importantly the positive attitude up and down our lineup for the entire game. We have next week off with our ski day. Nice job boys and girls!
