On Thursday afternoon the U10 Basketball team left their boots behind and laced up their shoes as they took to the court for their season opener at Sterling Hall. Off the opening tip the SHS Sharks took an early lead dropping a couple of quick baskets. The Cubs weren’t going to let that keep them down as they clawed their way back into it and let the Sharks know they were going to make a game out of it. Working together as a team the score would be an exciting 12 – 12 at the half. With the lead bouncing back in forth in the second half it was anyone’s game. The U10’s weren’t going to let all their hard work go to waste and in the last minutes of the game netted a basket to go ahead on the scoreboard. Playing tight defence until the end, the Cubs heard the final buzzer and celebrated a 26-24 win. Way to go Crestwood!
