It’s Spring and everything beginning to bloom. On Tuesday, the Grade 3’s went to the Toronto Botanical Gardens to check out the growth and changes that are happening with the plants in our community. We noticed that plants come in all shapes, sizes and colours as we hiked through the Wilket Creek ravine. We spent an afternoon, studying the life cycle of the forest as we participated in fun, interactive activities to learn about the needs of plants. Then we headed up to the garden to meet decomposers and to plant vegetable seeds in the community garden. All of the vegetables that grow in the garden are donated to the Toronto Food Bank. We encourage everyone to check out the fascinating sights at the Toronto Botanical Gardens at Edwards Gardens.
