Dear Parents,
As we come to the end of another school year (albeit a “different” year for the past three months), I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all your support. The countless numbers of emails that I and individual teachers have received in which so many of you expressed your gratitude and appreciation for what we have provided for your children, have been appreciated more than you will ever know.
It has been a stressful and difficult time for everyone…kids, parents and staff, but nevertheless, I think we still all made it to the end in relatively one piece!
In one of my previous communications to you, I had mentioned certain protocols that I was putting into place for next year. I just want to bring you up to date on some changes and new protocols:
1. I had previously mentioned desk shields for students and gave you the website (privacyshields.com) so that you could see what they were. These shields were made out of cardboard and I have since scrapped that idea. I have now ordered custom made plexiglass shields for each student in grades 1-6 (something else will be in place for the JK/SK students)
2. The cafeteria will not be used. Those students on hot lunch will have their lunch delivered directly to them and all the students will have lunch in their classrooms.
3. The computer lab will not be used…we have ordered enough devices so that each student will have their own to use for the year…this eliminates having to disinfect each device after every use.
4. Recesses will be held in different areas of the property so that, for example, not all the grade 4-6 students are in the same area at the same time. The same goes for the grade 1-3 students and the JK/SK students.
During the summer, you will receive our usual “summer mailing” as well as a complete outline of everything that will be in place in September in order to keep your children as safe as possible.
I wish I could say that I look forward to seeing all the Grade 6 parents at tomorrow’s Grade 6 virtual grad ceremony, but I won’t be able to see you…you will however be seeing me. It has been a pleasure having you all as part of the Crestwood lower school family and please know that you will be missed. Please keep in touch…we always love to hear from you!
Wishing you and your families a safe and healthy summer, I remain,
Yours truly,
Dalia Eisen
