Monday, after school, the Senior Boys Basketball team played Crescent at CPC. Playing with a short bench, the team got off to a slow start, as they trailed by 14 going into the second quarter. With great leadership by Aaron Jackson and great offensive play by Ahmed Izzeldin dropping 32 points, along with Victor Xie’s tenacity, the team battled back and eventually over took Crescent by a score of 47- 41. Special mentions must go out to Sultan Salih, Tristan Lim, Nolan Moss, and Josh Zweig for a great team effort.
On Monday January 26th, the U14 Boys Basketball team travelled to King City to take on Villanova College. The CPC Lions started out strong, taking control of the first quarter with good ball movement. However, the Villanova Knights were unwilling to give in to the intense pressure of the Lions, and tied the game 18-18 before half-time. The team was led by some great offensive plays of Spencer McGoey and Jonah Eichler. During the second half, both teams battled for points but it was CPC who ended up victorious, with a score of 36-33. The outcome could have been different, if it wasn’t for the strong rebounding from Jacob Newman and Robin Wu, and pure aggression of Edward Li and Macaulay Harling. Ms. Watson and Mr. Engel are proud of how the team is playing, and congratulate the boys on a great game.
