What a week in sports! Click for pictures, recaps, and the sports schedule.

 U14 Boys Rugby

Congratulations to the U14 Rugby team who continued their strong start to the season in Wednesday’s 7aside rugby tournament. Led by the combined play of Adam Bounsall, Jonas Weissland, Callum Braund and Jacob Hanning, the boys were victorious against Sterling Hall and Royal St. George’s College.

In their final game of the day, the boys went up against the undefeated side from TFS. While Crestwood was not victorious, they demonstrated increased skills and positional structure. Shout outs to Forrest Lin, Amir Rafati, Armin Selzner, Matteo Licata and Cameron Frank for some fantastic tackles and team play. The day would not have been complete without more than a few Jet Lam attacks!

Junior Boys Rugby

Wednesday afternoon the Junior Boys Rugby team  travelled to Cherry Beach to play in their first tournament of the season. The boys put their hard work in practice into play winning their first game of the season against Holy Trinity 20-15. The tries were scored by Max Dolman, Aren Karshafian with his dangles and speed, Cole Morrison with his hard work ethic and leadership, and Ethan Cohen, Michael, Zhang, Aaron Greenspan, Josh Moshenberg and Mehmet Toucouglu with their strong play all day. Mr. Pagano and Mrs. Newton are extremely proud of the boys and look forward to our next tournament next week.

Senior Boys Rugby

Congratulations to the senior boys rugby team who played some outstanding rugby yesterday in their first tournament of the season. CPC started out the day with a win over Albert College by a score of 19-12. The second match of the afternoon was the toughest and CPC was defeated by Pickering College. The third game of the tournament was the highlight, which saw CPC defeat Rosseau Lake College by a score of 47-0.  It was a team effort the whole day with tries scored by Braden Harris (2), Artie Shlykov (2), Aiden Reilly (1), Luca Lettieri (2), Chris Sanders (2), and Brandon Baijnauth (1).  Braden Harris was also strong in his kicking game converting 10 of 12 field goal attempts. Good job boys!

Junior Girls Soccer

On Wednesday, the junior girls’ soccer team played their second game of the season versus TMS. After winning their first game 5-1, the girls were hoping to continue their good start to the season. Right from the opening whistle, our girls dominated in all aspects of the game from the amazing goalkeeping of Alexa Gibson, the stifling defence of Marina Nevison, and the relentless effort of Samantha Mintz.  And yes we did score a couple of goals too. To be more exact, the girls scored 9 goals.  Scoring their first goals of the season were Jahnai Brown and Angelina Audette.  Julia Lee scored an incredible 7 goals this game and now has 12 goals in the first 2 games of our season.  An amazing effort all around that the girls will try to continue as they play against St, Mildred’s next Monday.

U14  Boys Softball

Crestwood’s U14 Boys Softball team started their season off last night with a game against the York School at Fenside Park. Despite temperatures that seemed more suited to hockey than softball, the boys put forth a strong effort and kept their energy up for all 7 innings. Some early defensive misplays put Crestwood in the hole, but the boys settled in behind the stellar pitching of Ethan Adler and blanked the York School for the final 5 innings. Unfortunately, York School’s defence was firing on all cylinders, and Crestwood was only able to put one run on the board. Final score: York School 8- Crestwood 1.
