The Senior boys rugby team competed in the CISAA championship at Rosseau Lake. It proved to be a very successful day for this team that could not be beat all season. The boys started off defeating SJK in game 1 by a score of 19-0. We then moved on to defeat Albert College 15-0 in game 2. Game 3 we faced Pickering College and defeated them by a score of 31-5. This all led up to the final match of the day for the gold medal. We faced the defending champs Rosseau Lake College on their home turf. After a long exhausting day of rugby the boys had to dig deep if they wanted to win. This group of young men showed heart, girt and the desire to win. In an exciting battle CPC took an early lead scoring a try in the first 2 minutes of the game. RLC answered back with a try and a conversion giving them the lead 7-5. In the last minutes of the game CPC decided their fate scoring a last minute try and conversion to win the battle 12-7. This was a true team effort, tries were scored by Bennett Harris, Peter McLeod, Benji Gertin, Will Malisch, and Aiden Reilly. Congratulations to all team members on a fantastic season!
Crestwood’s Varsity Boys Softball team completed their season with playoff games against Lakefield and Villanova.
Highlights from the games included the fastest ever inside-the-park home run from Aaron Jackson, and consistent hitting throughout the playoff series from both Aaron Joshua and Andrew Haynes. After a hard luck first game, Tymon Weinstein bounced back in the second game with a power pitching performance that included 4 strikeouts.
Thank you to our three graduating players, Aaron Jackson, Andrew Edwards, and David Hagon – we’ll miss you boys. Thanks also to the rest of the team for an enjoyable season.
The U14 Girls soccer team traveled to Holy Trinity School to play its semi-final match against Ridley College. A win would guarantee them a chance for soccer supremacy while a loss a third place consolation match.
The girls came out pressing from the get-go and their efforts were soon rewarded by Ally Linton, Angelina Audette and Sydney Swartz. Not to be outdone, Ridley pressed but our formidable defence and goaltending kept them at bay. The match finished 3-0 Crestwood and our goals were going to the finals.
The final against Holy Trinity School, who like Crestwood, remained unbeaten for the entire season, was a close and nail-biting affair, as the girls exchanged jabs and punches looking for that lethal blow. In the end, Holy Trinity scored on a well placed free kick, and fatigue and exasperation finally caught up to our girls. The game ended 2-0 in favor of Holy Trinity, who finish first in the Tier 2 league while CPC finishes a respectable 2nd.

Thank you to all badminton players for a great season! A big thank you to all the badminton players who participated in the CISAA Championship yesterday. The senior teams competed at Humber college and the junior teams competed at Crescent school. Congratulations to the junior girls and mix double teams who placed second in the competition. A special congratulations to Carole Li who received the silver medal in her category and congratulations to Ivy Lu who also received a silver medal in her category. In the boys junior team, special congratulations to Gavin Wei who finished first place after a very challenging game in the finals and who received a gold medal.
