U14 Girls Soccer
The U14 Girls soccer team opened the season with their first game Wednesday afternoon against the girls from York School, with a well-earned and well-fought 3-1 victory. Our girls’ work ethic and tenacity in the first half paid off with 2 goals by Angelina Audette, who played her role as a center attacking midfielder like a seasoned veteran. Not to be outdone, however, York battled back in the second and solved the riddle of Megan Gibson, who had come up with some brilliant acrobatic saves all game. But, with 10 minutes left to play, Angelina once again, showed calm and collectedness as she scored her hat trick on a cooly placed penalty shot, putting the game out of reach at 3-1.
Kudos go out to the entire team and to the subs who came in and did an awesome job – not to mention the parents and friends in attendance. The girls travel to Cherry Beach on Monday to play their second game.
