Crestwood’s Grade 6 theatregoers attended an impressive performance of Spirit Horse at Young People’s Theatre this morning. A quest story, Spirit Horse chronicles the adventures of two Indigenous children as they bond with and protect the mysterious horse that their grandfather has given them. In follow-up discussions, students discussed the skillfulness with which only three actors created the many characters in the play, as well as the possible rationales behind the company’s decisions in staging, lighting, and set design. Ask your student to describe to you the Spirit Horse that they imagined during the performance!
