On Thursday, students and parents were invited to a presentation on social media safety and awareness, presented by Police Constable McCann. Students were given tips and strategies to ensure they keep their online profiles private, and keep themselves safe. Constable McCann also spoke about the rampant nature of cyberbullying, and how to be a “upstander” and report it. Social media can be a great tool if used correctly, and Constable McCann shared practical strategies on how to do so. Her take home message to the students was, “See it, Say it”. If you see something inappropriate or unsafe, tell a teacher, parent, or police officer.
