More than ever, good news is something to celebrate and treasure and do we ever have some for you! We are thrilled to share the results of our 2019 Terry Fox School Run campaign and celebrate Crestwood as a top fundraising school in Ontario. It is because of our community’s dedication and compassion that we are able to raise funds and help to get the world one step closer to finding a cure for all cancers.
The goal of the Terry Fox run and the fundraising efforts are to keep Terry’s dream alive in the hearts of our students. We are hoping to teach the kids about selflessness, kindness, compassion and empathy.
Terry Fox once said, “I want to set an example that will never be forgotten.” Terry would be so proud to know that millions of students around the world have followed in his footsteps. It is thanks to the determination and enthusiasm of school communities like Crestwood that over the past 39 years, an outstanding $800 million has been raised in Terry’s name.
As we approach the 40th anniversary of Terry’s Run, in this uncertain time, we hope you will take inspiration from the way Terry rose above the many challenges that met him on the Marathon of Hope and keep his message of courage and positivity in your heart. The road ahead may be unknown and unlike any that we have ever been on, but together, we will take it one step at a time – just as Terry did.
