Dear Parents,
Our last week of February was a great one at Crestwood School. Luckily, the huge amounts of snowfall made for lots of fun recess play. Students are settling back into school routine, and are engaging in lots of exciting learning opportunities in their classrooms.
On Tuesday, we celebrated Pink Shirt Day! The sea of pink in the classrooms was a sight to be seen! Thank you for participating in this initiative to support anti-bullying, and working together to create an inclusive environment that promotes kindness and empathy.
On Wednesday, the Junior students had the opportunity to participate in a virtual assembly presented by Huddle Up. Huddle Up is an organization funded through Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment who seek to support and educate youth on the importance of standing up to bullying and building inclusive environments in our schools and communities. The assembly included a visit from Jamal Campbell who plays for the Toronto Argonauts, who talked about the importance of dedication and perseverance to achieve your goals. We hope the students enjoyed the inspirational messages, and will use these ideas to help make others around them feel included and valued.
We also had our Photo Day on Wednesday! Thanks to all students and parents for coming dressed in their proper school uniforms – everyone looked their absolute best!
Just a reminder we are still fundraising money through our MS Readathon. We are happy to report we have surpassed our goal and the MS Society has extended until the Readathon deadline to the end of March. Please keep reading, and keep fundraising for this worthy cause.
We look forward to welcoming the month of March next week. Remember to check the weather, and dress appropriately for outdoor activities. Have a wonderful weekend!
