Dean Rabie delivers reading and writing assistive technology programmes to students in York Region and the Toronto District School board.
Last year Dean provided our faculty with professional development in “Google Read and Write”. After “piloting” the programme in our Roots classes, we immediately recognized the significant impact this tool had on the learning of our students. We approached the CSPA to purchase a classroom set of 20 Chrome Books, and this generous donation has resulted in students throughout our school effectively using Chrome Books and Google technologies.
Throughout this month, Dean will introduce our students to additional Google Applications specifically designed for school aged children. Your children will have the opportunity to consolidate new technological skills both in their classrooms, as well as during “computer class”. As well, Dean will be providing our teachers with Professional Development after school.
We are extremely excited to announce that we are now incorporating “Google Classroom” as a pilot programme in Grade 3A. It is our intention to make this a school wide endeavour in September 2016!
We would like to thank the CSPA for their generosity.
