Book clubs have been a huge success throughout term 2. The Grade 1/2 book club read, discussed and completed activities about ten different picture books written and illustrated by Canadian authors and illustrators. One of the authors, Linda Bailey, is even coming to visit Crestwood all the way from British Columbia on May 2! More details to come. The Grade 3/4 book club also read, discussed and completed activities about ten books written and illustrated by Canadian authors and illustrators, but the books included chapter books as well as non fiction. They also have an author visit to look forward to in May with Liam O’Donnell.
The Grade 5/6 book club has been particularly rewarding. A group of us has been having lunch together and discussing books since September and plan to continue right through until June! The students didn’t want the club to end after term 1, so we continued, and now they don’t want it to end, so we’ll keep it going!
