I am the current 4E teacher at Crestwood School and am excited to be a part of this community. I completed my undergrad at University of Ottawa, where I studied criminology. After graduating from U of O, I was a Supervisor at a supported living house for men at risk of homelessness due to mental health challenges. One of my responsibilities was to develop and deliver a life skills program. It was there that I developed my love of teaching. I decided to apply to teachers college and received my Post Graduate Certificate of Education from the University of Strathclyde in Scotland. The following year I was employed as a grade 2 teacher in an international school in Kuwait. This opportunity provided me with a multitude of personal and professional experiences, which consolidated my love of teaching. After fulfilling my contract in Kuwait, I returned to Canada and began working as a Counsellor for Kids Help Phone. I also worked as Kids Help Phone’s Clinical Outreach Coordinator, developing presentations to schools across Canada and a mental health and wellness support program for students in grades 7 and 8. Although this was an amazing opportunity and experience, I missed in-class teaching, and returned to the supported living house to lead and develop a new life skills program. After supporting the development of this program, I returned to teaching children. I taught a grade 2 class at an international school in Bahrain for two years. I was involved inside and outside the classroom, helping to plan school concerts and hosting an ‘electronic music production’ club. In my spare time, I love to work on amateur music projects, read, and travel.
