Mr. Connors’ computer classes will be taking part in an “Hour of Code” during their next couple of classes. The Hour of Code is a one-hour introduction to computer science, designed to demystify code and show that anybody can learn the basics. It is a global movement that allows students of all ages to choose from a variety of self-guided tutorials. Tutorials work on any modern browser, tablet, smartphone, or even with no computer at all. Code.org’s own tutorial features Angry Birds, Plants vs. Zombies and video lectures from Mark Zuckerberg and Bill Gates. Beyond fun and engaging these activities have been proven to help nurture problem-solving skills, logic and creativity.
