The grade 6 science classes spent the week making models of our solar system. Students designed scale representations that dealt with multiple celestial relationships, including: the locations of terrestrial planets, gas giants, and dwarf planets; the relative positions of the sun, earth, and moon during both solar and lunar eclipses; and the appearance of meteoroids, meteors, and meteorites. The students had a lot of fun throughout this hands-on learning experience! This is a picture of just a few of the students’ creations.
