The U12 Girls Basketball team took to the hardwood yesterday. The game started slowly but ended up being a battle of epic proportions. The girls came out on fire with baskets by Maya, Olivia and Noa. Country Day School pushed back, but Crestwood held their ground with strong defense from Leila, Molly, Zoe and Bella. Unfortunately, Molly Hektor injured her finger while grabbing a rebound. CDS rimmed a shot with seven seconds remaining and the Cubs were left with one final shot for the win. Coach Conn drew up a last second shot and we executed it to perfection, but Maya’s shot and Noa’s rebound attempt both fell short. The game ended with a heart-breaking 21-20 defeat. Coach Conn is very proud of the girls ‘effort and execution and is looking forward to the final tournament.
