5B has been learning about healthy food choices, the role food plays in exploring our cultures and traditions, as well as fractions. This week, we combined all of our learning into one fun activity. Each student brought in a family recipe from home to share with the class. Everyone shared why their recipe was important to them, where it came from, and what memories it holds for them. We then identified all the fractions in each recipe, and showed each fraction in a picture. We’re looking forward to putting it all together in one class cookbook so we can enjoy each other’s recipes and traditions at home with our families!
