This week, the Eco-Team members attended the Planet in Focus Film Festival at the Art Gallery of Ontario. We watched several environmental short films exploring important topics such as marine biology and ocean clean up efforts, endangered species and habitat preservation, environmental activism, and creative ways to reduce, reuse, and recycle. We also participated in a guided tour of the AGO with a focus on environmental-themed art. Students spent some time sketching their own landscapes and reflecting on the interconnectedness of nature. We capped off the trip with a visit to their Maker Space where we used recycled materials to make our own eco-friendly artistic creations. It was a lovely opportunity for our Eco-Team members to learn about environmental issues and we know it will inspire them to be great leaders for our school community, and the world!
