The evening of April 30th brought the annual Spring Concert and Art Show back to Crestwood. Music students from Grades 7 through 12, under the direction of Mr. Jeff Fong, demonstrated their musical skills and talent in a terrific concert which showcased their abilities on pieces ranging from Star Wars to the First Suite in E Flat by Gustav Holst. The Junior and Senior Jazz Bands wowed the audience with their interpretations of The Theme from ‘Rocky’ and Count Basie’s ‘Whirlybird’. The Drama Department, led by Ms. Christina McCourt, reprised their exciting rendition of “Friend Like Me” with the student cast from their recent production of “Aladdin”…in full costume, no less! The Art Department, under the guidance of Ms. Tamara Reay and Ms. Brianne Cooper put on a spectacular display of beautiful student art work in the school foyer and in the Art Room. Messrs. Tomas Johnstone, Matthew David and Ms. Cassandra Postma enhanced the hallways and gymnasium with computer screen technology displaying art and games. Ms. Nicole Bryant, Head of the English Department and Mr. Jason Hawkins from Social Studies combined their talents to hone the script used by our M.C., David Hagon.
It was one of the best collaborative celebrations of the Arts at Crestwood to date.
