Last week, award winning Canadian author Philippa Dowding visited Crestwood’s Grade 3 and 4 students. Ms. Dowding answered her most asked questions such as: When did you start writing? (at age 9), What’s your favourite book? (Charlotte’s Web), Where do you get your ideas? (everywhere and anywhere–she got the idea of living gargoyles while shopping on Queen Street!), and How is a book cover made? (she collaborates with an illustrator). She also discussed her themes of loneliness and friendship that her books revolve around.
