Crestwood teams have had a successful jammed packed Winter Season, which came to an end this past Friday March 4th. While our junior students were enjoying a fun filled day of skiing at Beaver Valley, our U12 hockey team battled on the ice to capture the U12 DIV11 Hockey Championships. The bond the boys and girls formed on and off the ice created a perfect scenario allowing them to skate to victory. Congratulations team…your banner will hang proudly in our gymnasium.
The U12 Boys basketball team practiced for months and honed their skills, dribbling, shooting and passing, we had it all! Our season saw many close matches and we finished the regular season 14th in a field of 22 teams. Although we didn’t capture the title in our final tournament, your coaches are proud of your strong character, sportsmanship and of your skills on the court.
Memories of our Montreal trip will last a lifetime. From the moment the teams loaded the bus, to the countless games played over 3 days by both U12 hockey and basketball teams, to the friendships created by billeting in our Montreal homes, it was all a blast!
Congratulations to all members of the Crestwood U9, U10, and U11 Basketball teams. Your results speak for themselves. From the many Saturday tournaments to the U9 team travelling to Hamilton for their final jamboree, your bond and enthusiasm speaks for itself.
The U12 Girls Volleyball team went undefeated all season long. Lead by their coaches they entered the final tournament in the A division. They had a tough battle on their hands, facing competition that they had not seen all season long. Although they won matches that day, they did not bring home the trophy. The girls played with heart, and with the guidance of their coaches they got through a tough day of competition.
I personally want to thank all the Crestwood coaches and parents. Without your dedication and commitment to our teams, this would not be possible.
Having said that, we can’t wait for the Spring Season to begin.
U14 track and field take place every Monday and Wednesday from 3:40-4:40pm. The first practice will begin Monday April 4th.
U12 Softball try-outs will commence on Monday April 4th. Practices will take place every Monday and Wednesday from 3:40-4:40pm.
U12 Ball Hockey league will be offered during lunchtime recess every Tuesday and Thursday beginning Tuesday April 5th.
Badminton team members will continue to practice every Friday during lunchtime recess. Your final SSAF tournament will take place on Thursday April 21st at the Agincourt Badminton Club. Details will follow.
