From April 6th to 10th, the Senior Band comprised of 24 students from grades 10 to 12, participated in a Music Competition in New York City hosted by Festivals of Music.
The band members distinguished themselves by performing very well at the John Breslin Theatre at Felician University. They were adjudicated by university professors from Columbia University, New York, Georgian Court University, New Jersey, and Kutztown University, Pennsylvania. Ultimately, they received a Silver Trophy and an international rating of “Excellent” for their performance.
Sight-seeing included visits to Rockefeller Plaza, Times Square, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, a walk over the Brooklyn Bridge, tours of NBC Studios and Radio City Music Hall. They also saw a hilarious Broadway show, “Something Rotten” and went to hear some world class jazz at the renowned Birdland Jazz Club.
A wonderful time was had by all!
