The winter holiday season is always a busy time at food banks, and that is usually when most of the donations come rolling in. Many people forget that after the holidays the number of donations usually drops, but the demand for food stays the same (or gets higher).
It was because of this that at the end of January we were issued a challenge to see how much food we could donate as a school to support the North York Harvest food bank in only one week!
Not surprisingly the Crestwood community banded together and answered this challenge pulling off an impressive feat! Over 5 short days and with a wide variety of food items we managed to raise 200 pounds of food for hungry families!!
We would like to offer our most sincere thanks for all your support and would also like to share this letter that we received from the North York Harvest Food Bank.
