Dear Parents:
Crestwood Cares, (Crestwood School’s Community Service Committee), would like to begin the 2019/2020 school year with a positive endeavor to help our local community. With your assistance, Crestwood will begin a food drive to assist those in need in the Don Mills area. We will be collecting non-perishable food items to contribute to the Community Care Food Bank beginning Monday, September 16th and running until Friday, September 27th. .
The Community Care Food Bank provides a variety of food support services throughout the Don Mills area. With over 30% of Food Bank users in the GTA being children, this food drive is especially significant to Crestwood Cares. We want all children in the Don Mills community to be able to attend school daily with enough food to be healthy and successful.
Food suggestions can be found on the flyer. These small items will make a difference in the lives of many families.
Please send your food donations to your child’s classroom where community service members, together with students, will check “best before dates”.
As we know, “Together Everyone Achieves More”, and we hope the Crestwood School community will work together with Crestwood Cares to collect non-perishable food donations. In order to enhance our food drive, there will be a food collection point at the upcoming Welcome Back BBQ. Please help us by modeling the importance of giving back to our community by making a non-perishable food donation at the BBQ as well. Please watch for updates of our progress on Crestwood’s Instagram.
Please consider the nutritional value of your donations. Items requiring refrigeration or beyond expiration dates should not be donated.
Thank you for helping Crestwood students with this worthwhile endeavour.
Yours truly,
Patti Hektor for Crestwood Cares
