Every year, the English Department invites CPC students to participate in the annual InCITE writing contest. Students are invited to submit a poem, short story, essay or screenplay in response to the contest call sent out by CITE, the Conference of Independent Teachers of English.
This year’s theme was “2020 Vision,” and the contest call invited students to “shed light on that which is not in plain sight.”
We had a record-breaking number of students submit work this year…competition was fierce! But we had two very clear winners:
In the Gr. 9-10 grade category, our winner was Kian Torabi Ardakani for his piece entitled, “1 of the 176.”
In the Gr. 11-12 grade category, our winner was Anjali Juneja, for her poem, “Silence Me.”
I’ve included both of their submissions here for your reading pleasure.
We have submitted both these pieces to the InCITE Journal, where they will be published and entered into the next phase of the contest.
