Shout out to Aidan Dubins for a great race and amazing attitude and work ethic, as well as senior boy and captain of the team, Josh Deng who completed the six km course in an amazing time. The team will be back at Lakefield in two weeks for the CISAA championships.

Both our Senior Girls Elite and Junior Girls Elite basketball teams also participated in their first showcase tournament of the year, Shoot for the Cure. In true Crestwood form our girls did not disappoint. They finished the weekend 2-0 with two convincing wins. The first game we took on Royal Crown Academy who fell 107-74. Our ladies were led by Taija Sta Maria who poured in 32 points. Game two saw a similar result for George Harris Prep. The final score was 98-46 with Toby Fournier delivering 35 points to lead the way. The girls compete in their first OSBA games this weekend. The junior girls elite team also had a great start to their competitive season. The Lady Lions defeated Quebec’s St. Lawrence’s Express Basketball team, 120 to 46. Special mention goes to Ava Porter who had 33 points, Kaylen Sta. Maria with 26 points and Keyaraha Gregory 22 points. The Jr. Lady Lions will be at it again this weekend at the annual Crown The Queen Basketball Classic.
We also kicked off Intramural basketball this week. Over the course of 3 days we had over 100 kids come out to take part in our 3 on 3 tournament. Lots of smiles and some pretty good basketball, the tournament continues next week!

Spectator Update;
We have updated our spectator policy. Outdoor sports parents are permitted to come and watch. Please stay socially distanced. At this time we have opened up spectating home games to our STUDENTS only (with approval from opposing teams). We are hoping with the anticipated vaccines parents that we will soon be able to open the gym to parents as well.
