After a well-fought match on both sides, Victor Strogonov took advantage of a two pawn advantage in the end game to checkmate Arjun Anand and claim the title of Crestwood Chess Club Tournament champion to go along with his position at the top of the ladder after the regular season.
The Club now prepares to send six members to its first ever Ontario High School Chess Championship in Toronto today and Saturday. Good luck to all players!
