This week, the top Grade 12 debaters competed in the Intragrade Debating Championships.  In the final on Thursday, the team of Meghan Kates and Sabrina Wasserman defeated the team of Jarryd Firestone and Tristan Lim debating the resolution, “Be it resolved that political leaders should be penalized for not following through on their election promises.”

Crestwood has begun production on yet another school-wide play, and this year we’re taking it to the streets of 1920’s gangland New York. Next week is Crestwood’s Art and Music Night! The students have been working hard since September, and are excited to show off their new music skills and artistic creations. You can see the Grade 8s busily working away, preparing for next week!                          

On Tuesday, December 15th, members of Crestwood’s staff and Student Government will be taking attending Grade 7 and 8 students to Playdium, an indoor entertainment complex featuring high-tech attractions, rides and simulators. The students will depart from Crestwood Preparatory College at approximately 3:30 p.m., and will be travelling by bus to the event. At Playdium, the Grade 7

Tickets are now on sale for Crestwood’s Semi Formal event at the Hard Rock Café @ Yonge/Dundas Square.  The event will take place on Friday, January 15th, from 7-10 pm.  Tickets are $80, and include entry to the event, along with a full course dinner, dancing, and more. This year’s event should be one of the best yet.

Last Saturday, a group of Crestwood business students were up early and in their business attire to participate in the fourth annual Crescent School Invitational Case Competition. The Sr. Girls’ Volleyball team opened their season with two nail-biting matches against St. John’s Kilmamock. Unfortunately, despite amazing teamwork, the girls came up just short losing 25-23 and 25-22.   Emmanuel attended CPC from 2011-2014, and was a hard-working, kind, and motivated student and athlete. Emmanuel is now playing first division soccer in Greece! He is enjoying his time in Europe and is working hard to succeed.                        

Mane Essentials is the PA run school store.  Lara Cravit and her group of parent volunteers have run the store for years. It is open daily after school, and is located in the main hall.   CPC held a fantastic Remembrance Day Ceremony on Wednesday. Many students were involved, whether that was playing in the band, reading original poems, or delivering articulate speeches.
