We ask you to relax, let us pull up a chair, as Crestwood Preparatory College proudly presents….Beauty and the Beast! Last Monday and Tuesday Crestwood performed one of the world’s favourite stories: a music filled, magical journey complete with daring sword fights, far off places and a prince in disguise. It has also been the biggest, most challenging production we have done to date. Ms Christina McCourt headed an incredible ensemble of teachers and students including: Jeff Fong and Steve Lavoie, who were instrumental in helping our talented Crestwood musicians (including Mr. Jull) tackle complex music and give the backbone of our production. Lisa Belanger, Tomas Johnstone and Chris Dunn set the stage of this magical world, and the beauty of the Beast. Our objects and villagers were brought to life with the help of Sindy Preger,Terry McNamara, Michelle Aiken, Lemei Shao, Kit O’Rourke, Linda Armstrong, Nicole Gironda and Shannon Nevison. We were able to hear those catchy tunes through the help of Adam Anklewicz and the tech crew. The production night team of Sue Lyons, Mishka Sawka, Rachael Lee and Alix Doherty worked tirelessly, on posters, programs and ticket sales. The assistant directing and stage managing team of Lara Pagano and Jennifer Williamson who helped run rehearsals.
The Arts Department wants to send out a huge thank thank you to all the parents, coaches and administration whose support of the arts make enchanting nights like this possible! To my graduating cast members: it has been an honour getting to play make believe with you for the last few years, as you move on to bigger and better things keep you imaginations alive and open….you never know where they will take you.
The cast and crew had a wonderful time putting on this production for you and hope that you had just as great a time watching it!
