Bonjour Crestwood!!
It was so awesome to see the Earth Rangers and the unique animals they brought in to meet us. The Earth Rangers told me how proud they are of Crestwood for joining the battery recycling competition. Remember, we are competing against other Toronto schools to collect the most batteries to be recycled. If we win, we get a big prize !!! Like a big pizza party !!
Here is what to do:
Collect & test the batteries: Find a biodegradable plastic bag that you can use to collect all your batteries. Make sure the batteries are dead by using a battery tester. Don’t have a tester? You can test them by putting them in your toys, game controllers, TV remotes or anything that uses batteries. If it works then the battery still has life in it!
Bring them to Crestwood and put them in one of the special Earth Rangers recycling boxes that will be set up around the school !
AND!! Did you know you can recycle batteries any time? Not just during the competition?
To find out where to recycle them, go to www.earthrangers.com/missions, log in and click Battery Blitz to find your nearest recycling station. There are over 30,000 drop off sites in Canada!
