The Grade 6 students are busy working on a big installation project following the steps of American artist Louise Nevelson. Students have completed the first part of assembling individual pieces and are now moving onto combining sculptures. We are all looking forward to the final product. -Anya Romanenko

“Be the Change”

The Science of Structures

On Wednesday, the Grade 3’s visited the Ontario Science Center.  We investigated balance, stability, shape, materials and the function of structures. We performed experiments with compression, tension and load. On Thursday, November 17th, the Grade 6 students had the honour of hearing Zakaria Al Mokdad’s story about his life in Syria before the war, and his courageous escape with his family to Jordan, and now to Canada. Book Fair Success!

The Scholastic book fair at Crestwood was a huge success!  Over $12,500 worth of books were sold in 3 days!  The students bought some great books and the library earned some great rewards:  new books, a credit with Scholastic, and cash back to spend on author visits and MORE books.  A big thank you goes out
