This year’s theme is ONE KIND WORD.
We will kick off Anti-Bullying week with ‘Odd Sock Day’ which will take place on Monday November 15th. Odd Sock day takes place on the first day of Anti-Bullying Week each year to help raise awareness of bullying. It’s an opportunity to encourage people to express themselves and celebrate their individuality and what makes us all unique! Remember this is NOT a grub day, you still must be in full uniform!
Tuesday Nov. 16 will be pink hair day. During both junior and senior lunch our female peer mentors will be sharing messages of kindness and spraying students hair pink. By spraying your hair pink hair students are showing their support and standing up for anti-bullying messages.
Wednesday Nov. 17 will be pink shirt day. The original pink shirt day was organized by David Shepherd and Travis Price of Berwick, Nova Scotia, who in 2007 bought and distributed 50 pink shirts after male ninth grade student Chuck McNeill was bullied for wearing a pink shirt during the first day of school. At Crestwood we ask that students come to school in a pink shirt to show their support against bullying.
Throughout the week we will have many other activities going on around the school, watch our Instagram and Facebook pages to check out our anti-bullying initiatives.
