On Monday, the Grade 3’s had an a”MOO”zing visit from The Dairy Farmers of Ontario. Our instructor taught us what it’s like to live in a rural community and how farming has turned into a “high tech” business. We had the opportunity to discuss how the milk gets to urban centers; we explored a dairy farmer’s typical day, and looked at how much work is involved in milking a herd of cows. Daisy the cow was a willing participant as we attached machines to her as well. She left us with a little riddle–Why did the cow cross the road?
(To get to the udder side!)
