Today, “Milkshake the Cow” and a Dairy Farmer visited the Grade 3 classes to discuss and identify the distinguishing features of urban and rural communities. We learned about the different types of cows that are raised in Ontario as well as career opportunities on farms. All of the classes discovered how a cow produces milk and the technology and tools involved in farming which is now a high-tech business. Did you know that computers now run all of the milking machines? These machines can extract 30L of milk from every cow every day–that’s a lot of milk! We have surely gained an appreciation for agriculture and the UDDERLY amazing farming communities.
