On April 29th, Simran was named a “Runner-Up” in the New York Times High School STEM Writing Contest for her essay, “Tony Heros.” Her work, the only Canadian submission to receive an honourable mention in the Times, was ranked in the top 30 of over 3,000 entries! Her article explores the microscopic world of the “tardigrade”… a tiny organism that accomplishes superhuman feats.
