The Olympic motto, Faster, Higher, Stronger, motivated and inspired our Grade 6 Olympians during Wednesday morning’s grade-wide Zoom competition.
Divided into ten mixed-class teams, students strived for Faster in the rather comical “How many items of clothing can you put on in two minutes?” contest. (Twelve hats CAN be worn upon one head, it turns out!) During the “Things that Start with ‘T’” race, the piles of miscellaneous items grew Higher as students raced around the house, collecting as many objects as they could. And Stronger? Both brain and brawn were put to the test in the first and final events. The strongest estimation skills prevailed in the “Tap Master” water challenges; later, the athletes tapped into their stores of physical strength and endurance in the “How Many Burpees Can You Complete Before the End of This Song?” event.
Events completed, the Olympians came together for a rousing Kahoot of year-in-review trivia as the results were tabulated. The final results are:
Bronze Medallists: Orioles
(Simon, Sid, Graydon, Eli, Angelica, Ashley, Sandy)
Silver Medallists: Eagles
(Coco, Riley, Maci, Jonas, Daya, Anika)
Gold Medallists: Hawks
(Daniel, Jamo, Albert, Cory, Zidan, Anny)
Congratulations, Olympians!
We’ve enjoyed an incredible (and unconventional!) year with all of you.
We’ll miss seeing you next year! We wish you all the best in Grade 7.
