Crestwood Supports Daily Bread Food Bank

Hello Crestwood,

We hope that you and your families are all doing well and finding ways to stay happy and active while at home. We are all facing new and difficult challenges right now, but we recognise that there are people around the city and the country who are having an even more difficult time than we are. We have 3 healthy meals a day, and yummy snacks in between, but many people in Toronto are not as fortunate and rely on foodbanks for the food that feeds them and their families.

Through their research this week, the students in 4A learned that The Daily Bread Food Bank in Toronto, supports nearly 200 food programs around the city. In 2017, they provided food for 825,180 individuals and families around Toronto. A lot of people rely on the food bank, and now, more than ever they need our help.

Since social distancing began 6 weeks ago, the number of people in need has increased, but the number of donations to the Daily Bread Food Bank has gone down and the students of 4A want to help!

Over the next week we invite all of you, the Crestwood Community, to look through your cupboards at home and put together a donation of non-perishable food items. If you would like to make a donation, e-mail Miss Maalouf at katie.maalouf@ohp.crestwood.on.ca

On Sunday, May 10th, leave your donations on your doorsteps and she will be coming around to your neighbourhood to pick them up!

Together we can make a difference.

Miss Maalouf & the wonderful students of 4A
