After waiting 40 minutes for our opposition to arrive, the Crestwood U12 Traditional team were keen to get the game started and pressed CDS back into their defensive half from the kickoff. A succession of overlapping runs and crosses came close to opening the scoring. The pressure soon paid dividends as Beckett scored his first of two goals from the edge of the box.
The Crestwood boys are starting to play as a unit and their link up play is much improved. This was highlighted by some neat footwork from Kanmi and a clever back heel to release Beckett for another shooting opportunity.
On a breakaway, CDS scored a goal against the run of play to narrow the scoreline to one. But Crestwood promptly restored their advantage with a beautiful low shot into the corner of the net from Adam J.
Final score CDS 1 – 3 Crestwood. The team travel to Pickering for their 3rd game of the season this evening. Let’s keep it rolling gentlemen!
