It was a hot, long day at York University on Tuesday, May 24th, when we successfully competed in the CISAA U14 Championship track finals.
With 825 athletes from 30 schools competing on day 1 of the finals, our Crestwood team excelled both on the track and in the field.
Your teamwork, focus and support for one another all season long was inspiring, pushing you to experience success, growth and personal satisfaction.
Here are some highlights from the final meet.
Molly H. came away with 4 ribbons placing 2nd, 3rd and 4th in 100m, javelin, discus and high jump respectively. Congrats to Josh P. for finishing 1st in U10 javelin throw. Kanmi A., seemed to have wings on, as he ran to a 3rd and 6th place finish in both the 100 and 200m races. Amy C. placed 5th in the U12 high jump category; amazing results considering her limited exposure to the event. Our U12 athletes, Grace M., Maddy R., Erika R., Leila S. and Aidan T. all came away with ribbons for their efforts. In addition congrats to Coen R. for placing 4th in the triple jump and Beckett S., for his efforts earning him two 3rd place ribbons in the 400m run and javelin throw.
On behalf of the Junior track coaches Ms. Davies, Ms Krashinsky, Ms Fuller and myself I want to say, it was a pleasure spending time with the track stars of 2016.
Thank you as well, to all the parents for your contributions, help and support all season long and especially at the final meet which was hosted by Crestwood School.
