On Monday, April 11, award winning Canadian author Kenneth Oppel visited with our Grade 5 and 6 students. It was an inspiring visit during which he talked about two of his exciting books: The Boundless and Silverwing. The Boundless mixes historical fiction with fantasy and adventure, along with realistic and memorable characters, which makes for an exciting and interesting read! The remarkable Silverwing was studied this year in Grade 6 English. The students found out why he decided to write a story about bats and even learned about a variety of different bats.
